Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia), our primary destinations, have seen massive changes since the ASLA Travel Group was formed in 1991 - and the resurgence of these countries after the demise of the former Soviet Union has been reflected in a dramatic increase in visitor numbers since the late 1990’s that I believe will continue in the 21st Century.

Our company was formed out of the desire to provide western standards of service for group and individual visitors to the states of the former Soviet Union and our companies have remained true to this tradition throughout. We are now supported in our objectives by world-class hotels throughout the region, transforming the landscape for tourists and business-travellers alike. This improvement in infrastructure allied to major tourist attractions the equal of any in the world, combine to make Russia and Ukraine two of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world. In recent years the group has focused on Poland, Hungary, Belarus, Czech Republic and other regions of Central Europe, now providing comprehensive travel solutions for our partners in each of these countries.

The ASLA Travel Group was established in May 1991 with the primary aim of servicing the requirements of tour operators seeking a reliable supplier of group and FIT hotel accommodation in Russia and Ukraine, inclusive land tours for groups, river cruises, shore excursions and ancillary travel services inside Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the states of the C.I.S. The objective of the group is to provide the highest standards of service throughout the region, together with efficient, reliable and professional levels of operations. Russia with our own local offices in Moscow and St Petersburg, we are fully licensed and accredited with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and recognised by overseas Russian Consulates. Expert staff and guides provide first class service for tours, FIT travel and special interest group programs in Moscow, St Petersburg, as throughout Russia. We handle group and FIT packages to Russia, and also a wide range of tailor-made tours on the Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian train journeys.

Ukraine our Kiev office, Arktur Ltd ; a British Ukrainian joint venture, is considered one of the leading inbound tour operators in Ukraine, servicing approximately 40,000 tourists per year. We handle group and FIT travel to Kiev, Odessa, Yalta and Lviv - and a large number of groups to Donetsk, Denpropetrovsk and other cities of Ukraine. We now have offices in Lviv, Yalta and Odessa to ensure quality of services in the major tourist cities of Ukraine.

Crimea a recent growth in tourism, particularly cruises, has led to the expansion of our offices in Yalta and Odessa, working together with our representative in Sevastopol. We have formed a separate and specialist company in Crimea to handle shore excursions in Odessa, Sebastopol and Yalta. Baltics with our new office in Riga, SIA Asla Baltic Company Ltd is ideally situated to manage all our group and FIT operations in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
