Select Service Ltd is the name of our DMC and incoming tour operator in Moscow, where we have operated since 1991. We have a team of 12 permanent staff based in Moscow.

Moscow office handles large numbers of group, FIT and special interest groups visiting Moscow, 'Golden Ring' and cities of Russia, ranging from Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian rail tours to specialist student parties studying political and cultural history.

We handle a large volume of tour series on behalf of leading international tour operators, hundreds of ad hoc special interest tours of every shape and kind including incentive groups, conferences, sports tours, performing arts and tours with specific interest, through to dedicated FIT programmes with allocations in leading hotels of Moscow ... all at great prices! We are particularly strong in school and student group travel to Russia, planning itineraries to fit specific Russian history programmes.

We are fully licensed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Russian Tour Operator and can issue visa support for our clients. UK Head Office offers the leading visa service for clients from the UK visiting Russia.

Security at Stations in Russia

 

Security has been tightened this week at the railway stations for the Sapsan (day train) departures in both Moscow and St Petersburg: metal detectors and luggage screening machines are being installed to scan luggage.
 
This means more time needs to be allowed for departures at the station.
 
Please bear this in mind when arriving at the respective stations.

BA Russia Flights and Code Share with S7 Airline

 

British Airways and Russian carrier S7 Airlines have started codesharing on each other's flights between London Heathrow, Moscow and across domestic routes in Russia from February 8, 2011. This follows S7's recent entry into the Oneworld Alliance.
 
The codeshares will operate on S7 flights between Moscow and Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk and Ufa.
 
All British Airways services between Moscow Domodedovo and London Heathrow Terminal will carry an S7 code as well.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport - Statement from Operations Direcor

TO: All Tour Operators

As you may be aware, there was a bomb attack at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport (DME) yesterday afternoon.
While we cannot offer official advice, we note that the general UK Foreign Office advice regarding travel to Russia has not changed (see link below).

Tours and programmes are currently running as normal, and flights are operating in and out of DME. We are monitoring the situation on the ground closely and will keep you updated with any developments which may affect our clients. We understand that there is increased security in place at all transport hubs, public places and hotels.
May I take this opportunity to remind you that we are contactable 24 hours a day both in Russia and in UK. All clients currently travelling have been accounted for and our local team are in contact with them to ensure that they are safe and well.

British Airways Strike Leaves Russia Mainly Unaffected

The BA strike seems to be having little impact - excellent for our tour and cruise passengers to Russia. We are of course issuing Russian visas for extended stays in Russia - and can assist locally in extending visas in Russia in such cases. Most flights are operating normally between London and Moscow & St Petersburg - but watch the BA flight for updates.
